The Patterson Cheney group has a very proud racing heritage.
1950's and 60's -With Bill Patterson starting his own racing team in the 1950’s and 60’s and competing in the Australian Grand Prix. Patterson Cheney Holden originally known as Bill Patterson Motors commenced operations in Ringwood on 1st April 1955 after a successful negotiation with General Motors for the franchise.
1970's - In the 1970’s having the likes of Peter Brock, Phil Brock and Colin Bond behind the wheel of the fearsome Torana’s they led the way to a successful era in Motor Racing with various wins in the Touring Car Championship and Bathurst Podium finishes.
1990's - In the 90’s former Bathurst winner John Harvey joined the Patterson Cheney group from our Ringwood location to pass on his expertise. Patterson Cheney pride themselves to being the benchmark in customer satisfaction.
So much so that in 1994 the company decided to embark on a quality improvement program. This strategy was needed to ensure we remain competitive and continue to deliver customer satisfaction. On the 5th October 1995 the Patterson Cheney group was accredited to the international Quality Standard ISO 9002-1987, placing us amongst the very first automotive franchised companies to achieve this.
Today - In 2008 Patterson Cheney returned to its Race Sport Heritage and commenced development of its high performance Road and Track going V8 Sports Sedans.
